Online SAY Referee Training

This online training program is part of the required training to become a SAY soccer official. The intent of this training is to provide you with the basic information about the Laws of the Game and some useful additional information. This will also allow for more focused training during the classroom training. It will also shorten the number of classroom hours required. Finally, it is hoped that this training will be more fun and enjoyable to learn the facts of the Laws of the Game.

Section 1 - Getting Started

In the first section of the online training course you will receive a brief introduction on how to navigate each section of the online course as well as a background on SAY Referee Directives, and why you should referee.

SECTION 2 - WHAT IS NEEDED TO PLAY

In the second section of the online training course you will be introduced to What Is Needed To Play, through the review of the SAY Playing Rules – Laws 1-4

SECTION 3 - HOW TO PLAY THE GAME

In the third section of the online training course you will learn How To Play The Game, through the review of the SAY Playing Rules - Laws 7-10 and 15-17

SECTION 4 - THINGS PLAYERS DO

In the fourth section of the online training course you will be introduced to Things Players Do, through the review of the SAY Playing Rules - Laws 11-14

SECTION 5 - YOU ARE IN CHARGE NOW

In the fifth section of the online training course you will learn how You Are In Charge Now, through the review of the SAY Playing Rules - Laws 5-6

INSTRUCTIONS

Welcome to the SAY Soccer Online Referee training course, you can work through each law in any order you want but the order they are listed in each section is the recommended order. After each section there will be a quiz to assure that you understand the information sufficiently to proceed to the next section. The quiz is not recorded and no one will know how well or how poorly you did on the quiz. If you miss a question on the quiz, you will be given the correct information.
